Thank You!

Thank you for supporting our trip in prayer and following our blog!  We look forward to telling you more!

Friday!

Sorry everyone, this is the last blog for the trip. I know you all are so sad, but at least you get to read this last one. Today we did a final packing and then we were invited to go on a prayer walk around Downtown Cleveland with church planters Bill and Patty Powis. My group consisted of Patty, Zoe, Micah, Brett, and myself. We started at Bill and Patty's apartment building and then we made our way toward the Cuyahoga River. We prayed for believers and non-believers, for the store and bar owners, and many other things. As we made our way around the city, we handed out fliers for Bill and Patty's Turning Point Church. They are currently planning to find a place for a church, to which they can move into from where they are currently meeting now, which is a music club. We prayed, and then got lunch at a deli next to the apartment building. We ate in the Powis' apartment, which was on the 13th floor and had a great view. From then, we got in the car and I am currently writing this on the on ramp to State Route 3. Overall the trip was fun and was a
great experience for all of us.

Peace out,

Aaron

Thursday Night!

We went back to the dorms to get ready to go to Edgewater Beach, grabbing our swimsuits and towels. Then we left for what was supposed to be only a 25 minute trip, but ended up being over an hour due to rush hour traffic. The trip with Big Daddy Looms (Mr. Loomis) was very fun, full of dancing and roasting each other.

It's me again (me is Allayna). While we were waiting for Mark to grill the chicken for dinner, we swam in the freezing water, but I did not last in the water for very long. I figured that I wouldn't be eating whatever he was making because I am a vegetarian, so I decided to get food from one of the food trucks. There were so many, and I HATE making decisions and there were wayyyy too many decisions from the multiple food trucks, and it
They dug such a deep hole that

all sounded so good. Anyway, I would think I made my decision, and make Natalie stand in line with me to get my food, and then right as I was about to order I changed trucks. I ended up getting a veggie pita, and it wasn't even that good so I was disappointed with myself. Oh well, what are you gonna do?  Everyone ate and some people got shakes and then we mat as a group and talked about our whole trip.  We had a great talk and it was kinda funny because this guy walked past us and was like "Is this a cult? I'm scared.” When everyone got back we played Catch Phrase for a little and then my Dad gave out prizes from the pool tournament and from the scavenger hunt. I got chocolate covered cookie dough bites.

Alrighty… Josh is back. My car ride back to the dorms was pretty fun. We got to jam to some music and just laugh and have a good time (my car included Carson, Austin, and Big Daddy Looms). When we finally got back we went back in the dorms and as Allayna said passed out the prizes and such. This brings us to the present, where we are all sitting around, playing games and just having a really fun time with all of our slap happy selves. Honestly, one of the biggest things I look forward to with these trips is getting to bond with the rest of the youth group. It lets us work better together and makes everything seem better.

It's Allayna, but I promise I am almost done. I apologize for being a rambler, but I hope you enjoyed this detailed blog of our super fun day. SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW!

Thursday Afternoon!

Josh is back again. After the Museum of Art we went back to our dorms to get ready to go to the Indians game. We parked about what seemed like 3 miles away from the field. During the game I was collecting all of the excess food (not by choice) and ended up with my own personal collection of food--peanuts, 3 bags of chips, 2 souvenir cups, and popcorn. We left the game a little early but the Indians were way ahead.

Thursday Morning!

Hey Harvest Homies (I know Austin already said that but I came up with it so I'm allowed)!!! It's Allayna. So to start off the day, the Starbucks trio (Austin, Natalie, and I) walked to Starbucks like normal. We ate breakfast and did our quiet time and then went to the Cleveland Museum of Art for a Scavenger Hunt.

It’s Josh now. When we got to the Museum of Art we all got partners and were given a paper with 11 questions on it that could only be answered by looking at the work of art. We were given an hour to look for all the works of art, and were told to meet back in the atrium to have our answers checked and scored by Mark Robertson.  Austin and I scored 6, which earned us a 4th place tie with most of the other groups.

It's Allayna again. My partner was Natalie (big surprise) and we got really competitive and annoyed because we found other groups asking workers where the works of art were
and we thought it was cheating... but turns out that half way through the scavenger hunt Mark told us we were allowed, so then we asked workers too.  Also, other groups kept asking to trade answers and we would not.  Soooooo we ended up getting 7 out of the 11, which tied us for first with Sam and Micah (but actually we got first because Micah and Sam got half their answers from Josh and Austin, but it's whatever).
